majorie robbins has to be stopped. twice now i have gone in there and she has cornered me and harassed me. the first time she said that she was going to sue me for slander because i told everyone what a lier she was. she told people around cokeville that i was fired for stealing money. i had $3 when i went to work and $5 when i left after a graveyard shift. she tried to say she never said that. she told a friend of mine that she ruined an order i had made because she thought it was for me and not them. yesterday june 12, 2005 she cornered me and said i needed to quit harrassing her employees. she said i do it everytime i go in, but the funny thing is she is NEVER there. she didn't even know i had been in there the day before. she tried to tell me that one of my friends had requested that i not be allowed in there. all it results to is here little mormon teeny-boppers don't like me. don't get me wrong i am mormon. when i called the district manager zann to tell him that she had cornerd me agian his responce was just dont go in until she is gone. she (thank god) is leaving in a couple of months because her husband (cop) had to resign from his job. it still rediculas that she is aloud to treat me and others like that. she has ruined my name. people know think that i am a lying, cheating, theif!!!

I HAVE PERSONALLY WITNESSED EMPLOYEES BEING DEGRADED  AND HUMILIATED BY THE HEAD HONCHO ..

I DON'T THINK ALL FLYING J'S ARE LIKE THIS ONE OR THEY WOULD SOON BE BOYCOTTED BY THE TRUCKERS.

THERE IS NO COMPETITION OR I AM SURE THE FLYING J WOULD BELLY UP IN THIS LITTLE TOWN.

i commend you on your stance against the flying j in resaca. i only live 
about 10 miles from there and i often hear truckers talking about bypassing
the place just to be treated better down the road.
i know for a fact that the  managment is nothing but a bunch of a#$#%#%
and got what they deserved and just keep up the good work and also we
stop at the T/A'S because they have always given me very good service.

I was employed at the Flying J Restaurant in Austinburg, Ohio as a Server for almost a year. I loved my job as a Server there and everyone I worked with, we were all hard workers and put our customers first always. That is, until we got a new GM there who thought he needed to change things. I'll admit, we needed some changes, but it didn't take long before things got out of hand. It all started with our work schedule.
    Employees were no longer listed on our schedule in alphabetical order, but listed from top to bottom as who was liked the most by the new GM. Of course I was always at the bottom of his list of favorites, due to the fact that I worked third shift and never worked with this man, and some other things. He would promise certain employees a management position to get them to do his evil bidding, which was spying on other employees and tattle tailing when the slightest mistake was done. If you were one of these employees you were constantly praised by the GM and given special treatment.
    Employees who were at the bottom of his list were punnished constantly by having their hours cut or being forced to work other shifts, even if you stated on your application that you could only work one shift. He told all employees that if they were sick, they had to report to work anyway so he could decide if you needed to be sent home or even see a doctor. He constantly talked about employees to other employees too, causing much conflict and breaking the trust barrier we all had before he came there.
    I worked 2 jobs and was raising 2 kids myself and no matter how tired I was, I always came in and gave my best. My customers loved me and so did the employees I worked with, as I loved them. For this I was never rewarded or praised in any way. He decided he needed to cut employees on third shift to save the Company money, since it was our slow season, and that is when I had enough. He cut my dish washer, we had no cashier or buffet attendant, no prep cook, and our cook left at 4am. At times it was just me and one manager running the entire restaurant.
    I quickly adapted and learned all these other job duties so I could fill in when needed. I was a cashier, a dish washer, a buffet attendant, a server, and at times a cook also. I constantly asked the new GM for help and expressed how it was too many duties for one person to perform, I became exausted constantly running from one end of the restaurant to the other. My tips became smaller due to me having so many other duties to perform, and customers not getting the service they deserved.
    Finally one morning he told me why I was forced to do all these duties. He told me that because, when I was hired, I recieved a shift differential pay that I had to do extra work. When he came to our restaurant one of the first things he did was get rid of the shift diff. pay. Since I already had it he couldn't take it away. I told him if I didn't get help soon, I would have to put in my 2 week notice.
    This made him angry and he responded by throwing a notebook at me and telling me "Don't you threaten me with a 2 week notice, give it now! You make more money then some of my managers do, and for what you make, you should be able to run this place at night all by yourself!" Scared of what he would do next, I wrote out my 2 week notice. Many other things were said, but I won't get into all that on here. Since that day, I have regreted writing that notice and want my job back desperately, but feel there's nothing I can do.
    Besides, how could I go back to work for a man like that? Is it my fault that I was given the pay I had? Did it state anywhere in my application that if I recieved a shift differential pay, that I was to perform all those extra duties? I realize now that it was all a game to get me to quit, so he could save the Company money and look good. He wanted all servers to make the same wage, despite what shift they worked. I wonder how much money they saved by paying a server minimum wage to be a cashier, server, buffet attendant, dish washer, and cook?
    When I was hired, I was told I got the shift differential pay  due to less tips on third shift, dealing with a much more aggressive crowd (lots of drunks), and the fact that, at times, I would have to run the register. I feel I was done very wrongly due to circumstances that were never in my control. I never asked for the pay I recieved, it was given to me. There is so much more I could say on here against the Flying J, but all in all.....nothing happened there that doesn't happen at any other job. The food was great, the place was clean, and most of the employees are some of the hardest working people I ever knew in my lifetime so far.
    I was done wrongly, but believe very strongly in the old saying "what comes around, goes around." I will move on to greener pastures and just remember the great times I had there and all the great people I met. I miss it greatly, and if ever asked would gladly take my job back, without all the extra duties of course. Sometimes, when you are having trouble at a place with an employee, think about what they are going through also....put yourself in their shoes.
    I was a single mother, working 2 jobs....but never complained and always wore my prize winning smile, even when my feet hurt so bad I thought they would just shrivel up and fall off. Not all employees are bad, and not all Flying J's are bad either. I'm sorry you had the problems you did, but I believe you, and the employees could have handled that situation a little better then it was. I have had people come in, tired from no sleep, and just yell at me for no reason. It hurt, sometimes I would even cry behind the scenes, but I tried to understand them and why they would feel so bad. I would come back and do my best to make that person crack a smile....and it usually worked.
    People are people and no person is perfect, we all have bad days. Sometimes it just takes a moment to calm down and a smile to turn things around. Sometimes there is no reasoning. Either way, give it your best to always turn a bad situation good....I know I will.

I started to work for Flying J during the end of Dec. and after 3 months (90 days to be precise) I did not recive my card for discount, after the fight about it, Some fucking idiot stole thies electric skate boards from near my till (Which happens to be near the front door) while during the time, I do beleve I was helping a new guy on most of his till learning. The day I came back in to work, I was pulled off into the office and was told about it. sine it was 2-3 skate boards that came up to $400.00 worth missing, they put me on a 6 month suspention for "Not paying attention" Now im fucking jobless and almost broke. I asked them about puting me in a different possion like maintnence. they said no on it cause of the 6 month I get to look for more work. Most was my fault, other is there fault of putting over $100.00 worth of stuff near the front door.

I guess the Hell Hole in cokeville called Flying J is not  the only one who treats their employs like hell!
this was a great place till they put a new manager in called Margerie. She has fired the best employees and is hiring all her little Mormon freinds.
She  writes everyone up  for (Insubordination) if they disagree with her at all.  The higher up called Zan won't believe a thing everyone says about how horrible she is treating employees.
One cook was fired on the spot because he said a cute joke.  She ran the best waitress off because she  stuck up for herself. Seven employees have left in two weeks and the headquarters just keep letting her shine.
We Cokeville. citizens are sick of going in there and hearing the bitch degrade the help.   But I gather Flying J thinks she is just a God!
Flying J needs some lawsuits from  some of their employees.  It is hard to believe they allow their employees to be treated so bad.
A Cokeville resident that is sick of the joint!

i was fired from the flying j in cokeville, wy. i was told that i was being "insabordnant". and i was following the orders of the associate manager. the gm fired me before finding out the whole story. in fact, she told the district manager she fired me for a diffrent reason than i was told. so pppplllleeeeaaasssseee. if yoy know who i am talking about or what let everyone know. i think that my old gm needs fired.

Check this out. I worked for a local pest control company in Jacksonville, Fl. for the past 18 months, I just started the pest control service on Flying J's  2 months prior to you receiving this E Mail, So obviously I just Got FIRED from my job because of the stupid restaurant manager told his company that I gave him pesticide chemicals to do his pest control. Not at his house but at the restaurant where 1000s of patrons are served food at this place. I believe the reason he did this is, when we do inspection reports on these places we have to document any sanitation problem, There's was by far the worst I have seen in the 25 + years I have been doing pest control in Georgia/florida. Well, you wonder why I am in Florida and servicing pest control at Flying's in Brunswick, GA off 17 there exit 29 . we, well the company I worked for is representing another company called Copesan, once Flying J canceled with copesan nation nationwide because of a pissed off restaurant manager with a nasty a_ _  restaurant, They let the little man go ME, after all I have done for this company.   Thanks Flying J's and Mc Call Service   
Although I would love to do something to make these people wish they hadn't messed with me this way. But. isn't that like information if I was to show proof of it couldn't that get me into trouble with the law somehow? If the Health Food Inspectors are inspecting this place there must be someone paying them to keep quiet about these deplorable conditions in which Flying j is serving food to there patrons. Mold and fungus under there buffet bars was just the beginning of many conditions that were found at this place thank you for answering my e-mail and as far as Flying J's and the company Mc Calls Service Inc. they are commies and deserve to be shipped off to some remote island so they all can get together and kiss each others ass and get out of our way.
Yes, I do believe that Flying J should be held accountable for the way they have conducted themselves, First I am going to talk with my Lawyer today Friday 4/1/05 about this situation. If I have a case? If the courts can make them release there records. I do believe that will show they had a reason to slander my name and get me fired. I would like to follow thru with your plan of action. But, only after I talk with my lawyer today will I know what can and can't be done to intensify the tightening of the noose around the neck of the company who helped get me fired, Flying J and the company who actually fired me Mc Call Service Inc. Although I would never work with either of these companies again. I would like to help the next person to not have to go thru this. I will be getting back in touch with you.
P.S. Do you know how to get in touch with the Georgia Food Establishment inspectors so I could make a formal complaint with them about Flying J's  Health Issues at exit 29 in Brunswick, Ga.

I agree, Back In Aug 1998 i was leagally parked at the flying j at Joplin  Mo. I awoke with my 3 new Peterbilt piggybacks being pulled out of a parking  spot. Brakes were set and things went down hill from there. I was assulted by a  wrecker driver and 3 employees of flying j. Well a different out come. Wrecker  driver had over 200 stitches in his face and 3 flying j employees that went to hospital after they pulled a tire thumper and tried to hit me with it. As an  x-boxer and x-U.S Army drill instructor, Lets put it like this....it wasnt  pretty (for them).They will think twice before they do that again at Joplin Mo.  Than i filed charges and they paid fines...Thanks for your  time.

I love to visit your web sight. I think the idiot who said that the broadway flying j isn't like other flying j's is full of crap.

I work for one in williams iowa and they are nothing but a bunch of back stabbers. They are trying to change my shift to a different shift and when I asked to see my emp. file they said it was co. property and I wasn't alowed to see it. I know for a fact when I was hired that it was for a certain shift because I told them that I couldn't work nights because of my children.

Now they said that I said when I was hired that I was available for any shift. I think somebodys been busy making check marks on my application to suit their own purpose. When you ask the higher up any questions they say I'll get back to you and never do. They ran the best manager that we ever had out by lieing continuoisly to her. Now all we have is a back stabber. The funny thing about this all is that I can't see my file but, they can all stand around the casheirs desk dicussing my file with other employees around. I wasn't even there when it happened and a fellow eployee contated me and told all about it.

What do you think I should do about this unfair treatment. They also owe one of our former waitresses whome quit there to go to another job her last pay check and when she contacts them they keep telling her they will check into it. This has been 2 months ago she quit and she is still waiting for an answer. Now you tell me that broadway fling j is any better than any other j's. This is only the tip of the iceberg on the things going on here.

Dear Frosted,

Your letter only confirms exactly what I have been saying since 1998, that FLYING J DOES SUCK.

Your "employee records" are their property; however they are required by Employment law(s) in most states to provide you with an unedited copy. Please visit your local State Employment office and file a complaint with them. Tell your local office that you suspect that they have altered your application. But be aware, that in most states, refusing to be available for work on any shift can be construed as a refusal to work, and is usually grounds for dismissal and/or denial of unemployment compensation. If your questions to "higher-ups" are concerning your employment there, they MUST provide answers. Try writing them a letter and sending it certified mail, and send a copy to your local State Employment office. Take copious notes of every conversation or attempt at conversation you have. Document EVERYTHING; times, dates, person talked to, etcetera.

As to your friend who is owed back pay, again in most states, it is ILLEGAL to with-hold a paycheck for any reason, and the penalty for doing so can be as much as 3X the amount owed if the State Employment Office decides that the action was arbitrary. Your friend MUST also visit the local State Employment Office to file a complaint.

In Michigan, for example; an employer cannot even with-hold or deduct from a paycheck if the employee owes money (as in payroll advance) or for items the employee might have broken or stolen during the course of employment. The employer is required to pursue the matter in criminal or civil courts.

Hey I work at the Road Rangers and I'm stunned to hear of the mishaps. Flying J has problems and it starts from the top of the company. I'm so sorry this had to happen to anyone. I feel when a trucker comes to our store we should treat them with respect and heart, as I know it can be lonely on the road. I myself have had a drive-off with 300 gal. of diesel and it pissed me off. so I see thier point of view, but still no reason to get out of hand like they did. When a truck pulls forward or moves they should let the people inside know. I guess that if people dont have hearts they should not be working for the public. I promise you that the people at Road Ranger are caring and professional. We do go out of our way to help. I'm a husband of a waitress that works for Flying J and I don't really care for the way they do things there. They have a rule that due to the health dept.  you can't drink while on duty yet....if you are sick and you are coughing and sneezing while serving food to customers then they allow you to work......doesn't make much sense.....just what are they thinking.  Then you have those employees that call in all the time or don't call in or show up and they are treated better....again doesn't make much sense.....if it weren't for the fact that my wife needs to work cause we need both our incomes to pay bills and also that she is independent she would not work there......and she would not recommend that anyone else work there.....the way they do things there is just crazy.....To her Flying J isn't a place of employment it is a prison...................

Just want to drop a line and say i found your website by looking for topics on Flying J.  I use to work for them too, as a assistant manager on the restaurant side in OK, until I recently got fired in Sept 2003.  I filed unemployment and now they are trying to get out of it sayin I quit!  Such luck!  I started working for them back in Feb, and since the day I walked in till the day I left I disagreed with the way things were handled right down to what they do in the back of the house (where they prepare your food).  I have so much info I could tell you about it's not even funny.  Now I am facing having to go to court and no money for a lawyer just to prove that the termination was legit.  It's sickening to see how this company treats the guest and their employees, and allow it to continually happen.  I became smart one night and decided it was time to back myself up in case there is a time that I will get fired, which I knew it would be soon.  I am not surprised at all at what I have seen on your website.  I personally have seen things happen and dealt with angry truckers, even right down to a trucker being irate over having no crackers (due to the fact the general manager didn't buy more).  Time after time again I dealt with long hours, mad customers and not just the truckers either, and busting my tail to devote myself to this company.  I finally obtain insurance through these people just for the GM to turn me loose.  He short changed my hours, cut me back, used me on late night shit, even had me doing some awful jobs and not once did I think twice.  I always been trained to treat people fair and see it as you walked a mile in their shoes.  What I seen in this store, violated laws, health standards and regulations as well as training I received from the Food Safety Administration.  Now I sit and wonder where to go next with my issue.  The fact is, I gave up my livelihood, well being, family time to provide my employer loyalty as well as to my customers and employees.  I was not there long and develop all kinds of medical conditions due to the stress I am currently having to take medications, and deeply in debt with 7 months worth of emergency room, doctor, chiropractor, and clinical bills.  I developed strep throat right down to a mucloskeletal disorder that is stress related.  I am only 27 and the conditions I have in my back is seen in 50 plus year old people.  Dealing with just trying to receive minute amount of unemployment is ridiculous since they probably got some high tech lawyer to lie right along with them.  I feel I have to aleast try to provide my side and hope for the best.  The GM there did have sexual harassment as well as discrimination and I had also reported a slip and nothing had ever been done.  It angers me to no end, I have to young boys to care for and no consideration that I gave up my family to be with this job so I wouldn't be living off the state.  So what now?  Thanks alot to Flying J.  Corporate is just the same, I had to deal with them too.

I know you had a bad time, and i know from experience that the truck stop you stopped at is a rotten joint, but please don't lump all flying j stops in the same catagory, let me tell you about the one i work at....
The Flying J stop in La Grande Oregon is a nice place, we work hard to provide a clean and friendly atmosphere, and most of us love to joke and talk to the various truckers who come in, most of whome come in on a daily or weekly basis.
I'm not saying we are perfect, hell, far from it. But we really work our behinds off to make your visits pleasant.
We police the lot, and try to keep the transients away from you, call the police when there is any sign of real trouble that we can't handle.
But we also get real busy, as we have to also pump gasoline for the car customers besides cleaning showers and washing the dirty towels, cleaning and stocking the stores, and cleaning up outside, what, you think all this cleans itself?
Most of our customers are great, and I woulden't change them for the world, but some of them are real buttheads.
Let me tell you about a couple of them..............................
This trucker came into our store about 4 months ago on graveyard shift, snuck into the back in the employees area and broke into the upstairs office, tried to get into the safe, busted the drawer in the desk, and totally distroyed the office, cost us several hundred dollars in damage, what he got was $6.40 from an envelope on top of the desk.
2 months before that one trucker broke into the lottery flip ticket machine and took a bunch of flip tickets and about one hundred dollers in quarters before he broke into the pinball machine, totally destroying it and taking the quarters from it, all of this was on camera.
Now I have known truckers all of my life, and admired them because they were always good men, always willing to help, but I have also had some bad experiences with a few since I began working in a truckstop, one actually tried to attack me when i politely asked him to move his truck from out of the fire lane, and i have had to clean up crap off the walls, urine off the floors, nose pickins from various places, and  various other disgusting things.
That stuff is just wrong, we have to work really hard for the meager earnings we get every 2 weeks, without insurance, without any real benefits except for stress and aggravation because some people want to be aggressive and nasty, how would you like to clean up blood where someone dripped it all over the place, or coffee off the floor where someone decided his thermos was too full and poured it out, right beside the sink, right after you mopped the floor, or right after you deep cleaned a bathroom and opened it for use someone went in and trashed it by throwing paper and whatever all over?
How would you like someone coming in cussing you out because they forgot to stop in the port of entry and get a weight receipt and tax identifier and have to pay more for fuel, and only then if they refuse to call the port of entry and have them fax them one?
How would you like to have to put up with an angry trucker who has been snowed in for better than 8 days, though i have invited several home with me so they can sleep on a bed for a night.
How would you like to be blocked in to where you had to wake up people to move their trucks so you could go home and sleep yourself?
How about driving through 2 feet of snow so you can get to work in the morning, just to be cussed at and abused by ticked off truckers who just don't understand why the state won't let them go over the pass when there is 2 inches of ice on the highway, even when you tell them that over the past several years that 8 or 9 truckers have died in the passes, and taken others with them.
My favorite trucker died a couple of months ago, he was a nice guy, but he died in his bed at home, that is where we would all wish to die, he was a fishing and hunting partner, and alot of fun. one of the guys who died on the pass did not listen to us when we told him to take it real slow as he went over, and he did not stop to put on his chains when he went, he was hardheaded, and paid the ultimate penalty.

A Flying J truck just hit and killed my little sister, age 37, on the 6th.  She was hit almost 4000' south of the Wagon Wheel exit off of Alternate HWY 95 just out of Las Vegas, Nevada at 1:00 a.m. in the morning. 
South of the accident site was a casino and just north was a truck stop.  There was nothing else out there...she had been to the truck stop and was headed across the highway to the casino, about a mile away.  The trucker headed northbound in the fast lane, travelling VERY FAST according to the HWY patrol trooper, but after he hit her, he slowed to 40ish, he says...there are NO skid marks and I have tons of photos....the trucker, the lying son of a bitch, is trying to say that my sister bolted out into the road, fully seeing this truck (yah, sure) and ran into him. 
He says she had her head down and ran into him...he is lying.  The photos clearly show she was on the northbound side, walking south toward the casino, a pedestrian and his truck hit her on the side of the road.  The trooper tends toward the trucker's story because he is the only witness.  I am so pissed at their company.  There was no other traffic. 
The blood stains go for 60 feet and there are thud marks where the tire went over her head.  She layed in a coma, with a quarter of her brain missing, for 4 days before the family arrived and she passed on.  I just got home. 
I desperately need photos of a fuel hauling Flying J truck....close ups if possible and full body photos.  If you have any, please, please send them, as they will help our case.   She was hit morning of the 6th and died on the 10th of September, 2003.  The trucker hasn't even called to send his condolences.  He doesn't give a fig, apparently, for killing my sister.

I am SO glad to find this web site!  June 22, 2000, my husband had pulled into a Flying-J in Ashtabula, Ohio.  My husband put fuel into his pickup truck...went in and used the rest room...got in line & told the cashier he would be right back.  As he walked out the front door..."someone yelled at him to stop right there...& that we finally got you, you son of a bitch!"  He had no clue what was going on.  They accused him of driving off without paying for his fuel.  AND they added 12 other drive-off's.  They called the Sheriff...they hand cuffed him, and refused to take his ATM card.  The manager said he'll just add it to his tab!
Well, the charges had been dismissed...and now we have a Law Suit against Flying-J & the Sheriff's Dept.  
The thing is...that so-called manager cannot be found! 
Flying-J acts like we are a joke! 
And the Judge says...we have to prove they were malicious, or our suit will be thrown out!
CAN YOU HELP ME!  Anything you can offer would be great!
My husband has NEVER been in trouble with the law...he was handcuffed...Strip searched...and was not released from jail until 3-4 a.m.
What really makes me made is that at the time I was working for Sheetz as a Store Manager!  And EVERYTHING Flying-J did was awful!

Well, First of all, the way your husband was treated is similar to the way Flying J has been treating truckdrivers for years.
I am not an attorney, but I think that you would NOT have to prove that FlyingJ acted malicious to prosicute them for false arrest and/or accusing him wrongly for theft. If the Judge dismisses the lawsuit, I would hope your lawyer files an appeal.
The manager should be easy enough to find if your lawyer uses a "SKIP TRACER" to find him/her. They don't even need the SSN to do so, just the name. We found THREE of the Flying J employees involved in the brutal assault on me, but not before the Statute of Limitations expired on one of them.
The FOURTH employee was only listed as A WITNESS on the police reports and wasn't identified as being involved until we had the DEPOSITIONS, again too late to file suit against him.
DID the Flying J employees physically detain your husband? THAT is illegal too, they have NO AUTHORITY to restrain anyone, unless there is danger of that person harming someone else.
In my case, the manager claimed I assaulted several employees, even inside the Flying J, a charge that was disputed by one of their own employees.
Your LAWYER should know these things, if not, pray then look for another lawyer. It worked for us and we went thru two lawyers before we got one who actually did anything.

I don't know who you are and I have not read all of your site as yet, but I LOVE YOU! Cannot beleive how Flying J automatically jumps in on the sides of managers. If they took care of their employees, which I really think they must do at most locations, pople like me would not feel compelled to spend time looking to register sites like I was looking to register when I discovered yours. In particular, the situation with illegals working in California, knowing they will have to leave in just a few months when the documents come back with problems, and return to Mexico, is disgusting. I am a previous employee of Flying J. I will tell you what I know of Flying J and all it stands for.
I loved my job(Fuel Desk Manager). I really enjoyed talking with all the drivers, hearing about the places they had been and were going. I tried to go out of my way to help them find the easiest directions to where they were headed, or to just make them feel like they were someone not just another person to take money from. I tried to teach all my employees that also.
However, I never let a driver harass my employees either. I had a boss that was the other way around. He hated the drivers, he only wanted the locals and RV’ers. He was always yelling at employees in front of customers. He even went so far as to break several company policies. I broke the company policy of befriending customers and lost my job. When I notified Flying J of all the things my boss had done against policy some were even against the law, he brushed it aside. I had always thought that Flying J was a good company that thought of its customers and employees until September 2002. Now I know that Flying J is only as good the ones running it. Ergo I know now that some are good and some are bad but over all I will have to say bad because if Flying J can condone the things my ex-boss did(forgery, taking race tickets from a vendor, taking test for potential employee cause they couldn’t pass it, and cussing employee in front of people) then the company is corrupt. I wonder just how much Jay Call knows of this and if he would condone it if he knew.

Hi! I work at the Flying J truckstop in Spokane, WA. We are privately owned but are affiliated with Flying J. We would never and have never treated our customers as other Flying J's have. We treat our truckers very kind and most of them like us a lot. So, please do not include us as part of the others. We have many truckers who are friends of ours and the customers are very important to us! I do like your website and do hope that the right people also see it so that changes can be made for the better. I work in the food service part of our Flying J and think we are the best! I should note, I have never had any problems at the Broadway Flying Js, except that time at the Federal Way Flying J, the security guard told me I couldn't park where I parked, because he had sold that parking space to another driver, I told him to give the money back to the driver.

Hi, my name is Stacey and I am a manager at one of the Flying J's in Florida. I found your website by doing a web search for Flying J truck stops. When I found your website, I was totally appalled! I mean to tell you, I was close to tears. I love Flying J and what Flying J really stands for. I cannot even begin to tell you how sorry I am for all of your misfortunes. I only wish that my apology would or could make up for what has happened to all of you! I understand how you would not want to stop at any of the Flying J's, as well. Unfortunately, it only takes one person to ruin it for everyone! I have many comments I would like to make regarding what everyone has said. First, I have never even heard of a training class that teaches everyone to serve customers in any certain order. At all of the training classes I have been to and all of the Flying J's I have worked and trained at, we are trained to wait on customers in line order. If a driver is in front of a RVer, we wait on the driver first! As for the Com-Data/Com-check issue. From the time I started at Flying J, we were told that we did not take Com Data because they wanted us to raise our diesel prices. As if that was not enough, they wanted to charge us a fee for drivers using the Com Data, then they wanted to charge the driver AND his/her company. I think Flying J made the right decision on that one. I could go on and on about how wonderful I think Flying J is! Hello, I have worked for Flying J. and I know that there is always an employee somewhere that doesn't like truck drivers, but I have never been to a training class that puts anybody before a truck driver. We know we would not be here if it werent for them. I have worked on both sides of Flying J. in the restaurant and in the C-store. I have cleaned up piles of shit in the shower and right next to the toilets, 99% of the Drivers that are out there are really nice and when you get a driver that is a jerk, it really brings you down. I have had one bad experience with a driver face to face, it doesn't take much to make people hate you. When someone has a bad experience with a driver, it will sometimes affect the rest of your day. I say this from experience. I like working for Flying J, and I know that most of the people whos replys' I have read today are lying. I have been with the company for a long time and I know that they don't treat people like that.

This is the second letter (first one is in the "Idiot File") from an employee, where having to clean up "shit" was mentioned. Somehow, I fail to understand how they can associate this nasty action with the horrible treatment of truckdrivers by Flying J employees. And secondly......are they sure the person who did this nasty thing is a truckdriver? Third point......is it possible that everyone who wrote me an email about the way they were treated by Flying J employees was lying?
